Favorite Holiday Movies Part I – Blogmas #3
Christmas is the time to spend with family but it’s also the time where if you’re lucky, you get a few days off from work. I like to spend my days off binge watching my favorites, and that does not change during the holiday break. Below are just a few of my favorite holiday movie classics.
Click the title of the movie to open up a new window.
Ha, you thought I would start out with maybe Frosty, The Snowman right. Wrong 😆 But seriously, I love this movie. This movie came out in 1993 and I was a child, but I watched it while my parents were sleeping. Sorry Mom and Dad, but it was a good movie.
As an adult, I make it a point to watch this movie throughout the year. I’m starting to wonder why I don’t have the DVD. Without giving anything away, I really loved the cover of the film because as a child this was unusual to me. It was sort of like the movie Beetlejuice, 1988 found on Amazon, it was weird enough for my mind.
Let’s just say this movie is all about jealousy and learning to love yourself flaws and all.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is rated PG.
I am a huge movie buff and it didn’t start as an adult. I have been a movie watcher and book reader since I was a young child. Movies are everything!
Gremlins was watched in my household, by me, almost everyday. There were a few tape I had on hand for my after school binge sessions and Gremlins was one of them. This 1984 classic is set during the Christmas holiday so I felt lie it deserved to be on this list. I you’re an animal lover, you’ll most likely love this movie. If you have a soft tummy, I’d suggest watching with a friend.
Gremlins is rated PG.
This year 2000 gem of a Christmas movie starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen, is a must-see for all. I’m a fan of the variations made throughout the years of the Grinch movies but Jim Carrey knows how to make you laugh.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas is rated PG.
This black/white film from 1951 is truly a classic. There have been many versions of the Scrooge film produced and I have seen all of them. I watched this with my parents all the time and now I watch it with my children. Guess you could say we’ve made it apart of our Christmas tradition.
I dare you to try watching this movie without thinking about things you’ve done in the past…not possible. I also dare you to watch this movie and not be nice to every person you meet after…not possible 😆 This movie shows that kindness is far greater than hatred.
A Christmas Carol is rated NR.
This is another film featuring Jim Carrey but the twist on this film is that it’s 3-D animated. It’s still an awesome watch for the holiday.
A Christmas Carol, 2009 is rated PG.
Is there any holiday where Mickey and his friends don’t show up on the screen? This sequel to the 1999 movie is really good. Visit with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Scrooge McDuck to see what they get into for the holiday.
This is from year 2004 and is rated G.
All I can say is that I cried like a baby watching this movie, not because it was sad though. This movie was beautifully done and it stars Kelsey Grammer. It’s also rated G.
These seven holiday favorites of mine are just a few to list. Don’t forget to subscribe to stay tuned for Part II of my Favorite Holiday Movies, Blogmas post.
